I was writing a song for an emo comp last night, something to make Chris Simpson so proud. Inspired by and titled with the initials of my oldest friend, a touching tale of childhood grown old.

All those days I spent on the eastern coast planning water wars just to stay indoors.

I know that I had friends when I was growing up, but I can't seem to remember any names or faces. I can't seem to remember till I ended up in middle school, alone but for the friends I floated through. None of which lasted longer than a year.

I don't know what I thought I would find, choking down memories dusted with time. As a miserable child I was hunting sad tunes. Now I'm mounting my trophies, reliving my youth.

It's not what I wanted. I can't understand how the point of my song could land so far from my plans. Throw in the towel, cue the "whoas".
